Tammy Dollar Hardman
Pictured with her late father Preston O. Dollar Jr., Tammy was born and raised in Northeast Louisiana, where she grew up in the rural parishes of Franklin and Ouachita. A graduate of West Monroe High School, she later earned her nursing degree from Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey. She now works as a nurse in the PACU at a local trauma hospital where she is the recipient of the Daisy award for nursing excellence.
In addition to her work in healthcare, Tammy is a passionate advocate for autism and rare disease awareness—an advocacy deeply rooted in her journey as a mother to a child with both.
Tammy's love of storytelling began in childhood, when her grandfather, A.E. (Skinny) Smith, would spin vivid, imaginative bedtime tales about quirky raccoons and brave young adventurers. With limited access to books, these nightly stories sparked her imagination and inspired her to begin writing poetry and short stories as a teenager.
Today, Tammy lives in Florida with her husband, their three children, and their beloved rescue dog, Emi. When she’s not writing or working, she enjoys attending concerts, antiquing, planning themed parties, and celebrating all things Christmas. Above all, her greatest joy is spending quality time with her family.
About the Illustrator
Natalia Gubanova
I’m Natalia, an illustrator from Italy. Since I was a child I loved spending the days drawing in my room and I’m so grateful that even now as an adult I can continue doing what I love the most. I really enjoy bringing to life all the beautiful and magical worlds and characters of my clients. When I don’t draw I love spending my time at the gym or in nature with my kids and my little dog.
